Brussels, 30/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 27 November, the European Commission adopted the Italian and Romanian operational programmes which set out the uses to which funding from the European maritime and fisheries fund (EMFF) will be put.
The EMFF is for the years 2014 to 2020.
Italy: The Italian programme is worth €978.1 million in total for 2014-2020. The Community budget will provide €537.3 million of this sum. The largest share of the funding is for the fisheries sector, with €346.1 million. Italy is also planning to use €221.1 million for the aquaculture sector.
Romania: The Commission adopted the Romanian programme which earmarks a total of €224 million over the course of the seven years, including €168 million from the EU budget. Romania will devote the largest share of this money to developing aquaculture (€112.3 million). (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
