Brussels, 30/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 30 November, the Council of the EU adopted, without debate, the legislative acts on the fisheries partnership agreement between the EU and the Republic of Liberia (see EUROPE 11400 and 11330).
A new agreement and a new protocol were initialled by the parties on 5 June 2015. The five-year protocol provides EU vessels with fishing opportunities: - tuna seiners (Spain: 16 vessels; France: 12 vessels); - surface long-liners (Spain: 6 vessels). The Council adopted the regulation on the allocation of fishing opportunities under the EU-Liberia protocol and the decision on the signing and provisional application of the agreement.
