16/10/2015 (Agence Europe) - UfM-UNESCO agreement to promote tolerance and regional dialogue. On Thursday 15 October, the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and UNESCO signed an agreement in Paris to promote tolerance and regional dialogue. According to a UfM press release, the agreement is on “the promotion of cultural diversity through dialogue and through development, the fight against extremism, the promotion of mutual respect between the peoples of the Mediterranean” as well as a “culture of peace, and the promotion of cultural heritage”. The goals of the agreement also include cooperation in science, fostering the role of women, youth employment and sustainable development. (FB)
