12/10/2015 (Agence Europe) - Euro-Mediterranean electricity platform set up. The Euro-Mediterranean electricity platform has just been set up and its official launch was announced in Rabat where a meeting took place between all those responsible for setting it up, on Monday, 12 October. The ceremony was co-chaired by the Moroccan Minister for Energy and the European Commissioner for Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete, as well as Jordan, the current Co-Chair for the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). The meeting planned to announce an action plan for the 2016-2017 period. The project seeks to promote market integration and ensure permanent supplies. The platform is similar to the one set up for gas last June. The Commissioner will also take part during his trip, in the Rabat Forum on INDC (Intended Nationally Determined Contributions) in view of the forthcoming Global Climate Conference (COP 21) in Paris at the end of the year.
