12/10/2015 (Agence Europe) - Energy Union, Maros Sefcovic travels to Sweden. As part of his tour promoting dialogue with member states on the Energy Union project, Commission Vice President, Maros Sefcovic, will travel to Stockholm on Tuesday 13 October, where he will meet the Swedish Minister for Energy, Ibrahim Baylan, representatives from the Swedish Parliament and other stakeholders. Sefcovic will also visit a Fortum company electricity production and heating plant. The day before he travelled to Sweden, the Vice President stated: “Over recent decades, Sweden has experienced a significant energy transition that has led to large-scale decarbonisation of its energy system. This is a model for all the other EU countries and I am encouraging it to take the leadership in the energy transition in Europe, which is, effectively, represented by the Energy Union project”. (EH)
