Brussels, 07/10/2015 (Agence Europe) - According to figures published by the European Commission on Wednesday 7 October on harvest forecasts for 2015-2016, Italy will overtake France and become Europe's - and thus the world's - largest wine producer.
According to Commission calculations, based on figures provided by the member states, European wine production in 2015-2016 is likely to be 170.7 million hectolitres (hl), a rise of 2.9% on the 2014-2015 marketing year.
