25/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - Europeans shocked by devastating stampede at Mina. On Thursday 24 September, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini offered her sincere condolences to all the families of the victims and those wounded in the “tragic” stampede at Mina, Saudi Arabia, during the celebration of Eid Al-Adha. Mogherini also expressed her solidarity with the Saudi authorities “at this difficult time”. “My thoughts are with the victims and their loved one after the tragic accident at Mina”, European Council President Donald Tusk tweeted in English and Arabic. “My thoughts are with the families and friends of the hundreds of pilgrims victims of the stampede. (I) wish full recovery to the many wounded”, tweeted European Parliament President Martin Schulz. During the hajj rituals a stampede left 717 dead and 863 wounded. (CG)
