European Parliament wants to strengthen anti-torture rules

Brussels, 22/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - Ban the marketing and EU transit of torture or execution equipment - these were the demands expressed by MEPs from the international trade committee in the report compiled by Marietje Schaake (ALDE, the Netherlands) in order to strengthen the 2005 regulation banning the trade of torture equipment. Schaake's report was adopted by 34 votes in favour and 4 abstentions.
