21/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - Malmström visit to Washington for TTIP negotiations update. On 22-25 September, the Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström, will be travelling to the US where she will discuss the situation regarding the negotiations for a free-trade agreement between the EU/US, with US Trade Representative (USTR), Mike Froman. TTIP negotiations remain on track, following the 10th round of technical level talks in mid-July in Brussels (see EUROPE 11362). Malmström will also be meeting the US Secretary of State for Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, and the Deputy National Security Adviser, Caroline Atkinson. On 23 September, Malmström will meet the President of the US trade union federation, AFL-CIO, Richard Trumka. The Commissioner will make two speeches on the TTIP: the first will be part of the Liberal International Isaiah Berlin Lecture 2015 on 24 September and the other will be to Columbia University in New York on 25 September.
