France too harsh on electronic cigarettes?

Brussels, 27/08/2015 (Agence Europe) - Four French groups organised in tackling different addictions (Aiduce, Fédération addiction, Respadd and SOS addictions) have called on the French government to revise and complete its programme for tackling smoking, by following the example of the United Kingdom. They are also calling on it to revise the draft texts on electronic cigarettes, which they say include “too many measures to contain their use”. In addition to the measures acknowledged as being effective in the fight against smoking, the United Kingdom recently published the results from a report drawn up by Public Health England, which is very supportive of electronic cigarettes. The report says that electronic cigarettes, which are not deemed very harmful, can be a useful tool in the fight against smoking and recommends the promotion of these cigarettes in an appropriate way to smokers and for medical use.
