27/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - Green light for Dutch aid for electrical vehicle charging infrastructure. On Monday 27 July, the European Commission approved Dutch plans to provide state aid of almost €33 million for the installation and operation of charging stations for electric vehicles. The Dutch measure was found to be in line with EU competition rules as it has a clear environmental objective while limiting distortions of competition, the Commission says. In line with the Dutch “Green Deal” scheme, which will run until 1 July 2018, local authorities can decide to participate in the support scheme and choose from a number of options the type of charging post infrastructure that best suits their local community. Local authorities are required to draw in private investment to be eligible for the state support by means of public tender. (MB)
