16/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - New Italian PGI. On Thursday 16 July, the European Commission approved the addition of an Italian product - “Salame Piemonte” - to the register of Protected Geographical Indications (PGI). The main characteristic of “Salame Piemonte” is the presence of red wine exclusively from the Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto varieties. (LC)
