Brussels, 15/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 15 July, the European Commission approved the rural development programme (RDP) for Lombardia which is worth a total of €1.2 billion over the period from 2014 to 2020.
The EU will contribute €499 million of this sum (meaning, then, that national co-funding will amount to €659 million). The Lombardia RDP puts particular emphasis on improving the competitiveness of agriculture and primary producers, and on restoring, preserving and enhancing ecosystems. Some 3,200 beneficiaries will receive investment support to restructure and modernise their farms or for the processing and marketing of agricultural products. (Lionel Changeur)
