Brussels, 22/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 12 June, the European Commission formally approved the rural development programme 2014-2020 for Umbria, a central region of Italy. €877 million in public funds will be earmarked for the region over seven years, with €378 million to come from the EARFD (European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) and €499 million in national co-funding.
Additionally, the French national framework for aid under the EARFD for the period 2014-2020 was approved by the Directorate General for Agriculture of the European Commission, Florent Guhl, who is responsible for the dossier within the French Ministry of Agriculture, announced on Wednesday 10 June. The French programme is expected to be given its official seal of approval shortly. (Lionel Changeur)
