01/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - Restructuring of DG Internal Market and Entrepreneurship. Reorganisation of Directorate General Internal Market and Entrepreneurship (DG Growth) came into effect on 1 June. The aim is to articulate the DG around Commission priorities, increase flexibility and rationalise the use of financial and human resources. In November 2014, a first step was taken with the merging of DG Enterprise and Industry (DG Enterprise) with a number of units from DG Internal Market and Services (DG Markt) and a unit from DG Health and Food Safety (DG Sanco). The new organisation is constructed around five major priorities: microeconomic analysis, the internal goods and services market, industrial policies, SME-related policies and implementing Community rules.
