28/05/2015 (Agence Europe) - Commission sends objections to Riberebro about canned mushrooms. On Thursday 28 May, the European Commission announced that it had sent a statement of objections to Grupo Riberebro Integral S.L. and its subsidiary Riberebro Integral S.A.U. to inform them that it suspects them of involvement in a cartel to coordinate the prices of canned mushrooms and to allocate customers. The Commission's investigation into this sector began with unannounced inspections in February 2012 and resulted in a settlement decision against three companies -Bonduelle, Lutèce and Prochamp - that admitted their involvement in the cartel (see EUROPE 11108). The total fines imposed came to over €32 million. The investigation concerning Riberebro was conducted under the standard cartel procedure. (Elodie Lamer)
