Brussels, 26/05/2015 (Agence Europe) - In Brussels on Tuesday 26 May, the European Commission and the Joint Research Centre unveiled a new online platform, S3P-Energy, for the exchange of expertise among European regions in the field of investment in environmentally-friendly energy.
The platform will help EU regions make better use of cohesion policy funding available for investment in energy efficiency, renewables, smart grids and other sustainable energy projects.
In a press release, EU Cohesion Policy Commissioner Corina Cretu said: “For 2014-2020, more than €38 billion of Cohesion Policy funding will be invested in achieving the Energy Union Strategy and boosting the shift towards a low-carbon economy in all sectors”.
