08/05/2015 (Agence Europe) - EU deeply saddened by diplomat helicopter crash. On Friday 8 May, the EU expressed its sadness at the crash of a helicopter the same day which was carrying diplomats. “We are deeply saddened by the news that a helicopter of the Pakistani army carrying foreign diplomats crashed upon landing this morning in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan”, stated the spokesperson for High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini in a press release. Seven people were killed, including the ambassadors of Norway and the Philippines and the wives of the Indonesian and Malaysian ambassadors. The ambassadors of Poland and the Netherlands were injured. The EU offered its condolences and wished a speedy recovery to the people injured in the accident. The Pakistani authorities cite a technical fault but give no further details. (CCG)
