06/05/2015 (Agence Europe) - Denis Mukwege debates with the public at the European Parliament on 9 May. On Saturday 9 May - Europe Day - the Congolese doctor Denis Mukwege, winner of the Sakharov Prize 2014, will be participating in the open day of the European Parliament devoted to the European Year of Development. The Congolese gynaecologist, “who mends women” who have been the victim of mass rapes in the Democratic Republic of Congo, will give a presentation. He will be accompanied by Hauwa Ibrahim, winner of the 2005 Sakharov Prize, and Nana Mouskouri, UNICEF's Goodwill Ambassador. This presentation will be followed by a public question-and-answer session (to register on 11 May: http://goo.gl/forms/Zdvebx7bZV ). On 11 May, Dr Mukwege will also be taking part in a debate following a showing of the film National Diploma, as part of the One World Film Festival.
