Brussels, 28/04/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 27 April, the European Union hailed the peaceful conduct of the presidential election in Togo on 25 April. While awaiting the announcement of the results, it called for the electoral process to be continued “calmly and transparently”.
“The presidential election was conducted calmly, confirming the people's desire for democracy. It is important that all actors comply with the election results as an expression of the electors' will”, said the spokesperson for High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini (our translation throughout).
The election observation mission deployed by the EU will remain on the ground until the electoral process is complete. (Aminata Niang)
