Brussels, 30/03/2015 (Agence Europe) - The election campaign for the general elections in the United Kingdom was officially launched on Monday 30 March after the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, met Queen Elizabeth II to ask her to dissolve Parliament.
On Thursday 7 May, the British voters will decide whether they wish to continue with David Cameron's Conservatives or to place their trust in his rival, who has so far come out as the favourite in opinion polls, Labour's Ed Miliband. Miliband recently said that Cameron was a threat to British businesses with his plans for a referendum on relations with the EU, and that he was putting his country at risk of “losing influence”. The two parties are virtually neck and neck according to the latest opinion polls, but the Labour Party is believed to have won an advantage recently after Miliband and Cameron were interviewed separately on live television last Thursday, according to several media sources.
