30/03/2015 (Agence Europe) - Juncker's visit to Kiev postponed. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker did not in the end visit Ukraine on Monday 30 March, due to health reasons. “Juncker has postponed his visit to Kiev due to minor daycare treatment for kidney stones”, his spokesperson, Margaritis Schinas, announced on Twitter on Saturday 28 March. For his first bilateral visit to a third country, Juncker was due to have been accompanied by High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini (see EUROPE 11284). Mogherini did not visit Kiev on 30 March either - but was in Lausanne to continue negotiations on the Iranian nuclear programme. An EU-Ukraine summit is scheduled in Kiev on 27 April, which is due to be attended by Juncker, Mogherini and Tusk. (Camille-Cerise Gessant)
