06/03/2015 (Agence Europe) - Progress in nuclear programme negotiations. On Thursday 5 March, the spokesperson for High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said that the meetings between the political leaders of the E3+3 and Iran on 5 March, and the bilateral meetings of members of the E3+3 and Iran, on the Iranian nuclear programme had enabled “some progress” to be made and “a better understanding on some of the issues emerged”. Mogherini's spokesperson said that the meetings, which were continuing the ongoing diplomatic efforts to find a comprehensive solution to the Iranian nuclear issue, had been “constructive and useful”. The political director of the European External Action Service (EEAS), Helga Schmid, took part in the bilateral meetings on 2-4 March. The spokesperson said that “the E3 +3 and Iran will continue to work on the remaining gaps and will meet again very soon” - but did not give any date. (Camille-Cerise Gessant)
