Brussels, 02/03/2015 (Agence Europe) - The managing director responsible for the South East Mediterranean at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Hildegard Gacek, has said that 2015 should be a promising year for the EBRD's relations with Tunisia.
“This year will be marked by work on a new development strategy for the country (which) will serve as the control panel for setting out the country's most appropriate development actions”, Gacek told local Tunisian media, to whom she presented the results of the EBRD's action in Tunisia. Twenty projects have been financed, mobilising a sum of €210 million. Around 41% of this financing was granted to SMEs through financial institutions. There is also ongoing coordination with Tunisia for the reform of the regulation ruling the restructuring of banks, the modernisation of capital markets and the system for bankruptcy. (Fati B'Chir)
