Appellations - four new products registered

Brussels, 27/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission recently approved the registration of four new products on the list of protected designations of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indications (PGI). These are: for Italy, 'Pecorino delle Balze Volterrane' cheese (PDO), for Germany, 'Weißlacker/allgäuer Weißlacker' cheese (PDO), for Lithuania, 'Liliputas' cheese (PGI) and, for Portugal, a melon of the cantaloupe variety, 'Meloa de Santa Maria - Açores' (PGI).
