Brussels, 02/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 2 February, the European Parliament announced that candidates for the Charlemagne for Youth Prize have until 23 February to register. Candidates must be aged between 16-30 to participate and be - or have been - involved in the organisation of a project with a European dimension. The aim of the Charlemagne for Youth Prize is to encourage the development of European consciousness among young people, as well as their participation in European integration projects. The first prize in the competition is €5,000, the second prize €3,000 and the third prize €2,000. The prize also includes an invitation to the three winners to visit the European Parliament (in Brussels or Strasbourg). Representatives of the 28 national projects selected will also be invited on a four-day trip to Aachen in Germany. (IL)
