EBRD credit line

Brussels, 23/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) had granted Tunisia a credit line of €40 million to support SMEs. The direct beneficiary of this operation is the UBCI (Union Bancaire pour le Commerce et l'Industrie) - one of the country's big banks. The financing agreement was signed on Wednesday 21 January.

Marie-Alexandra Veilleux, the EBRD representative in Tunis, told local press that this credit line “is part of the EBRD's framework of operational priority in Tunisia”. She stated that the EBRD, which has committed €110 million, has become “an essential actor in the financial sector in Tunisia”. (FB)
