The European Commission is to send a reasoned opinion to Ljubljana, which has failed to notify its national measures enacting Directive 2011/85 on the budgetary frameworks. This directive is one of the six texts making up the six pack, a specific legislative package to boost the Stability and Growth Pact. Amongst other things, it requires the timely publication of budgetary data, reinforces medium-term budgetary planning and increases the transparency of economic forecasts at national level by measures such as the creation of a national committee responsible for monitoring the national budgetary rules and providing budgetary forecasts based on independent micro-economic forecasts.
