Brussels, 24/09/2014 (Agence Europe) - On 24 September, the European Commission approved the acquisition of joint control over KS Aluminium Technologie GmbH by KSPG AG, controlled by Rheinmetall AG, both from Germany, and HUYAU Automotive Systems Co, controlled by Shanghai Automotive Industrie Corporation (SAIC), both Chinese. SAIC is an automotive holding company which controls activities covering the entire automotive industry value chain, including the development, manufacturing, sales and logistics of vehicles and components. Rheinmetall is present in the sectors of automotive components and defence equipment. KSPG is an automotive equipment manufacturer present throughout the world. The Commission concluded that the operation would not raise competition concerns, given that the overlap of the companies' activities is minimal. (EL)
