Brussels, 09/07/2014 (Agence Europe) - “Administrative” delays have officially prevented the Commission from presenting recommendations on online gambling on Wednesday 9 July as originally scheduled.
The recommendations will be unveiled on Monday 14 July, once all of the language versions are available. There will therefore be no modification to the content of the recommendations.
These recommendations for the member states list the principles with which operators of games of chance must comply in their advertising material. The recommendations will also lay emphasis on protecting minors and the information to be registered when opening a gambling account, in order to prevent high-risk behaviour.
The recommendations will be accompanied by an impact assessment and a behavioural study on appropriate measures to protect gaming consumers. (MD)
