21/05/2014 (Agence Europe) - Russia has no objection to Slovak approach on reverse Slovakia-Ukraine gas flows. “Of course, we follow discussions on reverse gas flows from the countries that buy Russian gas because there are intergovernmental agreements and contracts. The Slovak government's position does not violate the agreements with Gazprom and with the Russian government. That is why we have no claims”, said Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov after a meeting with his Slovak counterpart, Miroslav Lajcak, on 19 May. On 28 April, Slovakia and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding under the terms of which Western suppliers can deliver gas to Ukraine via the Slovakian gas pipeline from Vojany (see EUROPE 11068).
