08/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - Oil ports. Welcoming the agreement on 6 April between the Libyan government and the autonomists to open two of the four oil ports blocked by armed men since July, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton called, on 8 April, “upon all parties to ensure the full and timely implementation of this agreement and to refrain from holding Libya's national resources hostage to particular interests”. “This agreement is a major breakthrough and should greatly benefit Libyan society as a whole”, she added. She congratulated the government on the “peaceful resolution of this issue”. (CG)
