Brussels, 04/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - Reforming corporate law and the governance of European companies, whether small or listed on the stock exchange, will be the next area to be tackled by the European commissioner for the single market.
On Wednesday 9 April, Michel Barnier will present a raft of new measures for the business world. These measures will aim to revise the directive on shareholder rights, with emphasis laid on transparency and shareholder commitment. A new directive is to be proposed to develop the European one-person company status. The Commission will also make recommendations to the member states to improve the information published by companies listed on the stock exchange. (MD)
