14/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - The Court of Justice finds for Slovakia over Tokaj. In a judgment returned on 13 February, the Court of Justice of the EU declares that the listing of the Slovak wine “Vinohradnícka oblas Tokaj” in the E-Bacchus register of protected designations of origin does not constitute an actionable measure. This listing, which was made on the basis of a transitional regime, cannot be challenged before the courts of the European Union. The wine-growing region of Tokaj is located in both Hungary and Slovakia. Hungary brought a case before the Court of Justice to remove the listing of the protected designation of origin “Vinohradnícka oblas Tokaj” from the E-Bacchus database. The Court has rejected Hungary's appeal in its entirety. (LC/transl.fl)
