Brussels, 09/01/2014 (Agence Europe) - Algeria expects its “friend nations”, including those of the EU, to give resolute support for its accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO). The 12th round of talks is to take place end February 2014 in Geneva. Declarations alone are not enough, Trade Minister Mustapha Benbada said end December when addressing his country's parliamentary representation.
Pending the February session, the minister, in comments reported by the local media, said he hoped the “main partners, especially the EU and the United States, would show a firmer stance to allow a move on to the next stage”. He said: “The EU's position as far as Algeria is concerned has changed for the better since the last meeting in September 2013”. (FB/transl.jl)
