On Monday 16 December, the Council reached an agreement on 2014 quotas in the Black Sea affecting Romania and Bulgaria: the TAC on turbot will be maintained (the Commission proposed -15 %) at 86.4 tonnes and the TAC on sprat at 11,475 tonnes. The Council is committed to stepping up controls in the fight against illegal turbot fishing in the Black Sea, as well as cooperation with the third countries concerned (Russia and Turkey).
