13/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - Australian G20 presidency in 2014 wants removal of trade barriers. Australia's Prime Minister Tony Abbot warned this week that world trade is expected to progress by only 2.5% in 2013 - well below its 6% average before the crisis. He said that as president of the G20, Australia will focus the G20 discussions on the way in which trade contributes to economic growth, and on the means for promoting trade at the global level. This will involve working together on concrete actions to remove barriers to trade, Abbot said. The G20 summit will take place in Brisbane on 15-16 November. Abbot expects his partners to go there ready to make concrete arrangements. (EH/transl.fl)
