20/11/2013 (Agence Europe) - Jordan to take part in EU programmes. On 18 November, the Foreign Affairs Council approved the conclusion of a protocol to the association agreement with Jordan on the main principles for its participation in EU programmes. This agreement follows on from the signing of this protocol on 19 December 2012 and the go-ahead given by the EP on 10 October 2013. This protocol will enter into force on 1 December 2013. Jordan, after Israel and Morocco, becomes the third southern Mediterranean neighbourhood policy country to sign a protocol of this kind. Over the 2014-2020 period, a number of EU programmes (Horizon 2020, Creative Europe, Life and Cosme) will provide an opportunity for certain forms of participation in European neighbourhood policy.
