Brussels, 18/11/2013 (Agence Europe) - The European External Action Service (EEAS), represented by its Executive Secretary General Pierre Vimont, and Spain, represented by Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Gonzalo de Benito, signed a memorandum of understanding on 18 November to establish Spanish diplomatic representation within the premises of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan. The EEAS and Spain signed a similar agreement for Yemen in December 2012.
The EEAS has thus far implemented co-location projects with 12 member states. There are co-locations in Belarus (with Austria), in Colombia (with the Czech Republic and Finland), in South Sudan (with Denmark, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK), in East Timor (with France), in Nigeria (with France, the Netherlands and Italy), in Afghanistan (with Lithuania), in Mauritania (with the UK) and in Yemen and Azerbaijan.
