21/10/2013 (Agence Europe) - Czech Republic and Romania taken to task over buildings efficiency. On Thursday 17 October, the Commission sent reasoned opinions to the Czech Republic and Romania formally asking them to ensure full compliance with their obligations under EU legislation on energy efficiency in buildings, Directive 2010/31/EC. The Commission has called on the two countries to inform it of all the measures they have taken to incorporate the directive, which was to have been transposed by 9 July 2012, into their respective national laws. If they do not meet their legal obligations within two months, the Commission may decide to refer the matter to the Court of Justice (EH/transl.fl)
