30/09/2013 (Agence Europe) - Sanctions and political dialogue. The sanctions imposed by the European Union on Fiji in 2007 following the military coup in 2006 have been extended until 31 March 2015. This was decided by the Council of the EU on 27 September, extending Decision 2007/641/EC. At the same time, the Council invites the government of Fiji to engage in an enhanced political dialogue under Article 8 of the Cotonu Agreement. (AN/transl.fl)
