Brussels, 17/09/2013 (Agence Europe) - Following a formal hearing organised on Tuesday 17 September, as part of the partial renewal of members of the EU General Court (see below), Marc Jaeger was re-elected president of this body for the period from 16 September 2013- 31 August 2016. Jaeger is from Luxembourg and has been a judge at the Court since 11 July 1996 and its president since 17 September 2007.
Five new judges were also sworn in following their nomination by representatives from member states in June and July last: Egidijus Bieliunas (Lithuania), Anthony Collins (Ireland), Ignacio Ulloa Rubio (Spain) and Stéphane Gervasoni (France), whose mandate runs from 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2019. They replace Laurent Truchot, Vilenas Vadapalas, Santiago Soldevila Fragoso and Kevin O'Higgins. Viktor Kreuschitz (Austria) was nominated for a period running from 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2016, following the resignation of Joseph Azizi.
The mandates for the following judges: Ingrida Labucka (Latvia), Mariyana Kancheva (Bulgaria) and Vesna Tomljenovic (Croatia), as well as Nicholas James Forwood (United Kingdom), Alfred Dittrich (Germany), Miro Prek (Slovenia), Guido Berardis (Italy), Eugène Buttigieg (Malta) and Carl Wetter (Sweden) were also renewed for the period from 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2019.
