Ms Karen Haekkerup has been appointed Minister of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, in a reshuffle of the Centre-Left government of Helle Thorning-Schmidt, in Denmark. Haekkerup, 39, who takes over from Mette Gjerskov, has been Minister for Social Affairs and Integration since October 2011. A member of the Danish Social Democratic party, she joined the Danish Parliament in November 2007. (LC/transl.fl)
