Brussels, 27/06/2013 (Agence Europe) - The levy for the reproduction of protected works can be imposed on the sale of a printer or a computer according to a ruling by the European Court of Justice (cases C-457/11 - C-460/11) on Thursday 27 June. The Court explained that member states enjoy a broad discretion to determine who must pay that levy, the purpose of which is to compensate authors for reproduction of their work without their authorisation.
