Brussels, 12/03/2013 (Agence Europe) - Algeria's Trade Minister Mustapha Benbada has said that his country will resume discussions on joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO), in Geneva on 5 April this year. He is reported by Algerian media as saying that an informal meeting with the EU could be organised beforehand. He went on to add (our translation): “Our European partner hopes to examine our dossier before the formal meeting to see how it may help us. We have forwarded a letter to the EU to state our willingness to hold that informal meeting. We await a response”. Algeria's integration into the world economy was triggered by the signing, in 2002, of the association agreement with the EU, which took effect in 2005. (FB/transl.jl).
