07/02/2013 (Agence Europe) - Zagreb and Ljubljana make progress on resolving their bank dispute. At the end of a six-hour meeting on Wednesday 7 February evening, the Croatian and Slovenian foreign affairs ministers, Vesna Pusic and Karl Erjavec respectively, believed they had found a solution to their dispute over Ljubljanska banka, which is blocking Slovenia's ratification of Croatia's accession treaty, and thus Croatia's membership of the EU. Erjavec stated that that an “acceptable solution for both parties” has been found. Pusic said she believed that they had reached “overall” a “possible solution”. “Now we need to convince our respective governments to accept it for the month of March”, Pusic said. The two ministers will meet again on 19 February. Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Füle had called for efforts on this matter on 14 January (see EUROPE 10764).
