Brussels, 21/12/2012 (Agence Europe) - On 19 December, the European Court of Justice ordered Ireland in Cases C-279/11 and C-374/11 to pay fines for failure to comply with Court of Justice rulings on failure to comply with EU environmental rules. Given, however, the reduction in the country's ability to pay as a result of the financial crisis, the Court of Justice reduced the initial fines set by the European Commission.
