Brussels, 19/10/2012 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 19 October, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton announced that the prime ministers of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, and Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, agreed to continue the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. “We agreed to continue the dialogue for the normalisation of relations between the two sides and both committed to working together. We will meet again soon”, Ashton said in a press release, without giving more detail. She said that having met the two prime ministers separately “with a view to continuing the EU-facilitated dialogue”, she chaired a joint meeting in her office “which was conducted in a good and constructive atmosphere”.
Ashton said that she “firmly” believes that the dialogue is in the interest of both sides. “Its objective is to improve the lives of people and help solve problems and, in so doing, bring Serbia and Kosovo closer to the European Union.” (CG/transl.fl)
