Brussels, 12/10/2012 (Agence Europe) - The “Notre Europe” think-tank is holding a seminar/debate on Tuesday 16 October at the Palais des Académies in Brussels on “Competition - Cooperation - Solidarity: Facing the new EU challenges.” There will be three round tables: - “Economic and Monetary Union - the need for a new start” with Etienne Davignon (former vice-president of the European Commission) and Jo Leinen MEP; - “Single Market and EU Funding, a new package for growth and convergence” with Philippe Maystadt (former head of the EIB, head of EPC), Jonathan Faull (Director General, Internal Market, European Commission) and Hannes Svoboda (chair of the S&D party at the EP); - “Improving the social dimension of the EU” with Koos Richelle (Director General, Social Affairs and Employment, European Commission). Jacques Delors will sum up by talking about the prospects of a more balanced European Union in the future.
At the seminar, Notre Europe's new name will be officially announced: “Notre Europe - Jacques Delors Institute.” (LC/transl.fl)
