12/10/2012 (Agence Europe) - Priority to Mediterranean corridor. During the Open Days on Wednesday 10 October, the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion presented to MEPs and Commission representatives a joint statement in favour of the Mediterranean corridor. The Euroregion calls for a working schedule to be established for the completion of high speed rail lines to connect Barcelona, Toulouse and Montpellier, as well as a goods transport connection with its main ports. Strategic challenges also include integration of multimodal hubs in Mediterranean ports, completed by the Lyons-Turin rail line and the Bordeaux-Toulouse-Narbonne high-speed rail line. (MD/transl.jl)
